Skagen’s Museum of Local History

Skagen’s Museum of Local History is a combined open-air and exhibition museum displaying houses from 3 periods of Skagen’s history. Experience the poor and the rich fishermen’s houses from the 1800’s and the exciting tales of sea and rescue feats in Skagen over the last 200 years. The comprehensive collection of items gives you a marvellous picture of times gone-by. Try your hand at some old crafts in the “do-it-yourself” room.

In 2005 archaeologists from the museum found proof that the Vikings actually settled in Skagen as well. The findings from the Viking era are now exhibited at the museum.

Useful information for excursion planners:

Opening hours: 10 AM- 5 PM . Not accessible for wheelchairs or persons with limited mobility as it involves some walking. Distance from coach to entrance: 10 m.
